Xiang Li is a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Ziyang Meng’s group at the University of Hong Kong. He obtained his doctoral degree from Wuhan University under the supervision of Professor Yu Wang. Over the years, his research has centred on numerical investigations of exotic physical states in optical lattice systems. With advancements in experimental techniques, the twisted bilayer lattice has recently been realised within optical lattice experiments, sparking Li’s interest in the interdisciplinary domain of twistronics and optical lattice engineering. He is currently focused on designing quantum geometry-driven transitions between superfluid and Mott phases in both bosonic and fermionic optical lattice systems.
