Tsinghua University
Shuo Yang received her B.S. degree in physics from Nankai University in 2006 and her Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. From 2010 to 2017, she conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Maryland, College Park, the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. She joined the Department of Physics at Tsinghua University in 2017 and was promoted to tenured associate professor in 2024. Her primary research directions are condensed matter theory and quantum physics, including tensor networks for strongly correlated quantum many-body systems, topological states of matter, and the interplay between condensed matter physics and quantum information.
