Ruiqi Xu (徐蕊琦)
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
I’m from China and currently pursuing the M.S. in Physics at Georgia Institute of Technology, with expected graduation in August 2025. I will continue my studies as a Ph.D. student at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. My research interest lies in condensed matter theory. My previous work focused on topological properties of Chern insulators with magnetic defects, such as orbital magnetization, bulk-boundary correspondence, as well as theoretical and numerical methods of probing chirality. Moving forward, I hope to explore more interesting quantum phenomena in strongly correlated systems beyond the band theory of non-interacting electrons, especially the emergence of topological order and exotic excitations.
