Lin Weng (翁林)
Faculty of Science
Lin Weng is currently pursuing studies in Physics at HKU, where his research has delved into the fractional quantum anomalous Hall effect within dice and Lieb lattices. He has also acquired foundational insights into the non-Hermitian fractional quantum Hall effect. Weng is particularly interested in the theoretical analysis of quantum Hall systems, with a focus on identifying Chern numbers and non-trivial flat bands in materials exhibiting quantum Hall phenomena. One discovery that captured his attention is the consistent appearance of a flat band in the Lieb lattice upon the introduction of an additional site—an observation that has prompted numerous questions and research challenges. He remains keen to further investigate and deepen his understanding of these intricate quantum systems.
