Kun Yang (杨昆)

Dr Kun Yang (杨昆) is the professor of physics at Florida State University and an affiliated member of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida, USA. He received his PhD from Indiana University in 1994. After postdoctoral work at Princeton and Caltech, he joined the faculty at Florida State University in 1999. His research interests lie in theoretical condensed matter and statistical physics. Over the years, he has received several honours and awards, including an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship in 1999, the Outstanding Young Researcher Award from the Overseas Chinese Physics Association in 2004, and the Outstanding Referee Award from the American Physical Society in 2015. He was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2011, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 2016, and was named Distinguished Research Professor by Florida State University in 2019.
