Jiazheng Ma (马嘉政)
City university of Hong Kong
Jiazheng Ma graduated from Sun Yat-sen University with a PhD in theoretical physics and is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Xiao Li's group at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). His research interests center around twistronics and the fractional Chern insulator phase. Jiazheng has investigated the hydrodynamic effective theory of twisted bilayer graphene (TBG) and has shifted his focus to the many-body physics of twistronics. To explore fractional Chern insulator candidates with higher Chern numbers, he and his team have modeled fractional filling in a twisted bilayer checkerboard lattice using exact diagonalization (ED) and the particle entanglement spectrum (PES). Additionally, inspired by recent experiments on tMoTe₂, they are working on theoretically interpreting the effects of impurities and finite temperature in this material.
