Guorui Chen (陈国瑞)
Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Professor Chen received his BSc from Shandong University in 2010 and his PhD from the Department of Physics at Fudan University in 2016. From 2017 to 2020, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. In 2020, he joined the School of Physics and Astronomy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a tenure-track associate professor and principal investigator. His research focuses on novel electronic states emerging from dimensionality, correlation, and topology in condensed matter systems—particularly in two-dimensional materials (graphene and beyond) and their van der Waals heterostructures. His group explores quantum phases using advanced semiconductor device fabrication techniques and probes them through electrical transport measurements at low temperatures and high magnetic fields. The pursuit of new materials, new techniques, and new physics lies at the heart of his research.
