Agreement signed in Beijing

The last weekend of October marked an important day for the partnership between the Croucher Foundation and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

On 31st October 2014, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of a collaborative partnership between the two organisations, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Beijing.

The Memorandum of Understanding confirms the shared commitment of the two organisations to the CAS-Croucher Funding Scheme for Joint Laboratories established in 2004 to encourage collaboration between researchers in Hong Kong universities and their counterparts in Chinese Academy of Sciences research institutes, and provides a framework for future funding initiatives.

Professor Zhang Yaping, Vice President, Chinese Academy of Sciences officiated at the signing ceremony, together with Professor Timothy M. Cox, Vice Chairman, Croucher Foundation.

In addition to the signing ceremony and a jointly-hosted dinner, the Croucher Foundation delegation was invited to visit Peking University and Tsinghua University.
